Research Interests

The environmental informatics and modeling laboratory conducts studies on analytical and numerical modeling of environmental systems and producing solutions using information technology applications. It uses leading technologies to collect, store, analyze and present environmental data. These data are necessary for the protection, sustainability and efficient use of the environment and natural resources.

Our laboratory creates a bridge between environmental science and information technology. It provides harmony between environmental sciences such as environmental engineering, ecology, meteorology, geology and information technologies such as information processing, data analytics, geographic information systems. In this way, it offers innovative solutions for the solution of environmental problems.

Finally, it works for the efficient use of natural resources, reduction of environmental pollution and a sustainable future. These studies ensure the sustainable use of the environment and natural resources.

As some solutions developed;

  • Flow and pollutant transport modeling in surface waters
  • Flow and pollutant transport modeling in groundwater
  • Dynamically related surface and groundwaters
  • Source/sink relationships in environmental systems
  • Numerical techniques in environmental modeling
  • Environmental impact assessment
  • Water resources management
